As students head home for an extended winter break, they leave behind homework, exams and critical school-provided meals, making the need for food assistance more significant and urgent this holiday season.
Families living paycheck to paycheck, like Carolyn's, feel overwhelmed by increasing costs for essentials like food and rent, all while trying to provide a joyful holiday.
Because of your generosity, Second Harvest and its partners can support families with nutritious meals during school closures and throughout the year.
Carolyn recently received a trunk full of groceries at a drive-through event at her kid's school. “This will be very helpful because the cost of everything is so high,” she said.

A volunteer helped Carolyn load groceries into her car, including a turkey and trimmings for a big family meal, plus breakfast items and other pantry staples.
“I am ever so grateful for the outpouring of love and thankfulness that everybody has given for this year,” Carolyn said.
The season of giving is in full swing, thanks to you.
