Stories of Hope

Start Your Day with Gratitude

Share

You may have a morning routine that includes coffee, news, and a commute to the office. Or your day may start with the school car line, social media scrolling and a game of Wordle.

Sonia called Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida this morning to start her day with gratitude.

โ€œI want you to know I appreciate whatever you do for me,โ€ her message begins.

She is a self-proclaimed old lady who lives alone. She currently receives nonperishable and fresh food through Bring Hope Home, a home delivery program that targets seniors, homebound individuals, and individuals with a disability, veterans, and those in the high-risk group for contracting coronavirus.

โ€œI want you to know I just got a delivery,โ€ the message continues. Then, she tears up.

โ€œThank you for helping people like me.โ€

Your generosity, advocacy and support matter, especially to people like Sonia. Thank you.
