Empowering Communities, Fighting Hunger: Second Harvest’s Partner Network Conference

Recently, Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida hosted its 2023 Partner Network Conference at Calvary Assembly in Winter Park. The annual event was made possible by support from Aetna.

The theme this year was “Calling All Hunger Heroes” and the day was spent celebrating the amazing impact of the network of 625 feeding partners do every day.

Volunteer Dedicates Retirement Years to Serving at Second Harvest Food Bank

After his retirement, Tracy found himself seeking activities to keep himself engaged and make a difference in his community. Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida, located conveniently close to his home, proved to be the perfect opportunity for him to contribute in a meaningful way when he isn’t playing pickleball or riding his bike.

Empowering Students at Washington Shores Elementary School

In preparation for the new academic year, Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida provided free produce and pantry items at a recent Back to School Community Kickoff event at Washington Shores Elementary in Orlando. Thanks to support from Papa John’s Foundation, students and families could choose from a large variety of fruits and vegetables including strawberries, mangoes, lemons, tomatoes, yucca root and more.

Brightening Summer Days and Nourishing Young Minds

Summer is a time for adventure, laughter, and growth. But for one in five kids in Central Florida, it can also bring the uncertainty of where their next meal will come from. Recognizing this pressing need, Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida provides free meals to kids and teens at 60 locations across Central Florida, ensuring children in our community are nourished throughout the summer months.
