A Journey of Hope

Share

Whether we acknowledge it or not, we all are on a journey together. Every human being on Earth makes a long, sweeping journey every 365 days around a giant blazing sphere of gas. If we are lucky, we wake up each morning of that journey with gratitude and a nutritious meal to fuel our bodies.

At Second Harvest, we have been on another kind of journey together, which has taken us on that path around the sun forty times. It has been a trip filled with uncertainty and even tragedy. Still, it has also been replete with daily examples of love, compassion, generosity, and hope. Indeed, it has.

What began as a far-reaching vision by a few kind-hearted friends has been thoughtfully nurtured and aptly resourced over the years by a caring community. Thousands of people, just like you, have lent their creativity, time, hearts, and financial assets to help an ever-growing effort to make more food available for our neighbors facing hunger. And it has worked! The impact on hunger relief grows more profound each year.

So. โ€œAre we there yet?โ€   The answer is no. But by traveling together, we will continue to grow into the unmet need and explore the possibilities ahead. Thank you for continuing along the path with our mission at Second Harvest Food Bank. Our journey of hope continues.
