You Help Provide Meals and Smiles All Summer

Share

Summer is finally here! With the excitement that comes finishing another grade, also comes a harsh reality: hunger doesn’t take a summer break. The need for regular access to healthy, nutritious food continues even after the last bell.

With prices rising for gas and other essentials, many families living paycheck to paycheck are scrambling to make ends meet this summer.

In response to these challenges, your support empowers Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida and its network of 800 feeding partners to support kids and families across seven counties.

“I’m thankful for Second Harvest filling in the gap when household budgets are stretched thin over the summer,” says Quinn Byrd, site director at Midway Safe Harbor in Sanford.

Second Harvest meets these needs by bringing truckloads of food to church parking lots, filling local pantry shelves, and delivering meals for kids to summer camps and community centers like Midway.

“I like the tomatoes,” says Jaxon, a rising second grader. “And I really like the meat and cheese.”

Because of generous donors, volunteers, and local partners, kids and families are getting the meals they need this summer. Thank you.
