Stories of Hope

You are Nourishing our Neighbors

Share

The link between diet and health is undeniable. Your support nourishes neighbors by increasing access to nutritious foods, establishing partnerships with healthcare practitioners, and providing nutrition education. Classes meet at food pantries, community centers and senior communities to improve the health and well-being of neighbors. Topics include healthy eating, whole grains, reading recipes, understanding food labels, shopping for more nutritious choices, and more.

“Your nutrition classes taught me to change my eating habits,” shared Jeremiah, a participant who attended eight weeks of nutrition education classes in Volusia County. Previously, he had been taking 10 different medications to manage his diabetes, high blood pressure, and cholesterol. However, after implementing the information from the series, Jeremiahโ€™s health significantly improved. He now only takes one medication and leads a more active lifestyle.

Your support is instrumental in enabling the healing and restorative power of food, making a significant difference in the lives of our neighbors like Jeremiah.
