As the new school year begins, many Central Florida families are facing hunger. Thanks to a caring community of volunteers, donors, and advocates like you, families are getting help in places they might not expect, like their child’s school.
For Diamond and her son, Julian, it has made all the difference.
“I’m one parent right now, and I don’t receive any government help,” explains Diamond. “When my son brings me those bags, it is something I’m grateful for, and it helps me feed my family.”
At the school market at Chestnut Elementary in Poinciana, Diamond and Julian can pick up basics like rice, beans, and cereal. Julian sometimes adds a package of animal crackers to his grocery bag when he gets the chance.
“I can have dinner every day at my house with the help of the food pantry, and it’s something that helped me a lot,” she said.
Your support sustains families and students at over 90 schools through the School Partnerships Program. Thank you for fighting hunger and building a brighter future for students across Central Florida.
