A Summer Filled with Meals and Hope

Thank you for being part of a community that cares enough to ensure kids and families have access to the food resources needed to make up for the pause in school-provided meals. Your collective efforts made it possible to fight hunger in remarkable ways this summer, making sure kids and families had nourishing meals on the table while school was out.

A Healthy Start to the New School Year 

Getting new school supplies, shopping for shoes, and meeting teachers are all part of back-to-school preparations. Making sure students have healthy food is just as important for their learning. 

Food Service Workers Fight Hunger Year-Round 

Fighting childhood hunger is a year-round endeavor at Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida’s Mercy Kitchen. With one in six local kids facing hunger, the team works with volunteers to ensure nutritious meals make it to the table at Kids Café sites after school and Summer Food Service locations all summer long.
