A Lifeline for Neighbors in Marion County

Hope Lake Weir is one of Second Harvest of Central Florida’s more than 800 feeding partners. The pantry helps about 150 households each week. Starting in October, they will also offer a mobile distribution once a month on Saturdays. This efficient drive-thru model will allow the pantry to expand access to food on weekends, especially for working families.

Destiny, a St. Cloud mother of four, was experiencing the toughest period of her life when she stood in line for food assistance from The Altar Community Church, one of Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida’s more than 800 feeding partners.  

Food Assistance Helps Families Cope as Prices Go Up

Isa, a mother of three from Orlando, regularly visits Jewish Family Services for help with food, diapers, and other essentials. Over the past two years, she has turned to the Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida feeding partner whenever her family needed extra support. Lately, she has needed help more often.
