Help and Hope When it’s Needed Most

Share

When Kristy’s family moved from North Carolina to Florida, she believed they were beginning a new chapter in their lives. However, shortly after their arrival, everything seemed to unravel. First, Kristy was involved in a car accident that totaled her minivan, and then she lost her job.

“I applied for every job and program I could find, but I was denied repeatedly,” Kristy explains. “I would stare at the screen, wondering what I was doing wrong and what I should do next.”

Seeking help putting food on the table, she turned to Second Harvest’s Benefits Connection team for help in completing her Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) application, which was approved within three days.

“Receiving the help and support I needed lifted the biggest weight off my shoulders,” Kristy shared.

SNAP benefits helped her keep her fridge and pantry stocked and provided stability while she continued her job search. For the first time in weeks, Kristy felt hope again. Thanks to your support, the stress and worry all faded away.
