Stories of Hope

Food is Learning

Share

Childhood is a time for learning, growing, playing sports and dreaming of a bright future. But without consistent access to healthy, nutritious foods, hunger can derail a childhood. Kids facing hunger encounter significant challenges, including academic performance, physical health, and emotional well-being.

Your support makes it possible to fight childhood hunger in neighborhoods across Central Florida. By providing the next generation with kid-friendly meals and snacks year-round, you are investing in our future teachers, doctors, and community leaders.

Children like Courtney receive a nourishing meal before participating in an after-school tutoring program in Orlando. Fueled up, they tackle homework, engage in games, and even take part in music classes.

“The food is so good sometimes I get seconds,” says Courtney. “What I like most is the fruit. It is so sweet!”

Her favorite subject in school is math. She dreams of one day being an art teacher.

“When I grow up, I want to show off my art with a mural. Art makes people happy,” Courtney adds with a smile.

Because of you, children like Courtney can focus on their studies and dreams without worrying about their next meal. They can access the food they need to learn, grow, and strive toward their fullest potential.

Providing the healthy, nutritious meals kids need to thrive.
