Stories of Hope

You Make Tomorrow Possible

In Central Florida, one in seven of our neighbors faces hunger due to root causes like working a low-wage job, the lack of affordable housing, and increased costs for everything from food to medicine. It is a heart-wrenching reality for moms like Vanessa, whose family was uprooted after Hurricane Ian and, despite being employed, finds it an uphill battle to secure housing near her job and children's school.

“Food, gas, rent… the costs keep going up and up,” says Vanessa. “My paycheck can't keep up. The bills and my paycheck don't add up.”

When everything else seems impossible, you make it possible for Vanessa and her kids to have healthy, nutritious food on the table. Your support allows Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida and its 750-member partner network to distribute enough food for 300,000 meals daily to kids, families and seniors.

“If it's not one thing, it's another,” says Vanessa. After delaying some car maintenance, she discovered her car needs expensive repairs. Thanks to you, she has one less worry as she juggles bills to keep her car running, search for stable housing and raise healthy kids.

“This is a weight off my shoulders,โ€ says Vanessa with gratitude. โ€œThank you.โ€

Your support provides hope to neighbors facing hunger.

$10 can provide 40 meals.
