Devastatingly, over 150,000 children face hunger in Central Florida. To make matters worse, the financial stress of providing breakfast and lunch for growing kids while schools are closed for the summer can mean gut-wrenching decisions for local families.
Kids need adequate nutrition in order for their bodies and minds to develop, and the time to act is now.
Swamp Sistas is a grass roots movement of musicians, artists and fans, led by songwriter Beth McKee, and they are determined to help close this hunger gap.
On June 14 through 17 the group will conduct their Swamp Sistas Summer Hope for Kids fund drive to help Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida provide freshly prepared, nutritious meals to thousands of kids in our community. Donations can be made by clicking here or give on Facebook.
