The Second Harvest Culinary Training Program is a 16-week continuing education opportunity offering adults facing barriers to employment with the culinary and life skills training needed to pursue a full-time sustainable career in the food industry.
In the 16-week program, students attend classes Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., in person at the Food Bank.
Students enrolled in the program gain valuable “hands-on” experience learning in our teaching kitchen during their lab time with our team of award-winning chefs.
To apply, students must meet the eligibility requirements below and complete the application. Students are strongly recommended to download and review the handbook below before applying.
Please read our Culinary Training FAQ here if you have any additional questions.
34.87% of the Culinary Training Program is funded by the United States Department of Labor.
The Culinary Training Program is designed to complement the two- and four-year formal culinary programs in the area, should students wish to continue with their culinary education. Our social services program tracks students' progress and milestones after graduation for one year, and provides job placement assistance.Click here to apply.
